Montreal has a new city councillor.
Voters in Outrement elected Marie Potvin of Team Denis Coderre in a byelection on Sunday with 414 votes.
Philipe Tomlinson of Projet Montreal garnered 333 votes, while Christine Gelinas-Elie of Conservons Outremont accumulated 327 votes.
Independent Paul-André Tetreault collected 46 votes.
The byelection was needed following the December resignation of councillor Lucie Cardyn.
She had been elected in 2013 under the Conservons Outremont banner, but had switched to being an independent after six months after citing difficulty in working with the borough mayor Marie Cinq-Mars.
