Hundreds of Hells Angels from across the country gathered Saturday in Repentigny for the funeral of Lionel Deschamps.

Deschamps was among the members arrested as part of Operation SharQc.

He pleaded guilty to taking part in a general conspiracy to commit murder during a biker gang war that lasted from 1994 until 2002.

By the time of his sentencing, Deschamps was already in the final stages of cancer. He died last week at age 63.

Some 300 people attended the funeral, including many of his fellow Hells Angels, who wore their Hells Angels jackets in public at the funeral.

Representatives from the RCMP, SQ and Montreal police were monitoring the scene, taking photos to refresh their databases.

Investigators of the police services of Laval, Longueuil, Sherbrooke and Repentigny were also on the scene.

One arrest was made, and two vehicles were seized. Several fines were handed out for non-conforming mufflers.
