Laval police raided an apartment at 639 Robert-Elie St. early Wednesday morning.

About two weeks ago, the police had received complaints and tips of a strong marijuana-like smell inside the eight-storey building.

Following their initial investigation, they opted to raid the apartment early on the morning of Feb. 19.

Police reacted quickly, considering the situation potentially posed health risks to the other tenants of the building.

Twenty officers of different rankings were involved in the bust.

How many plants were seized and whether or not any arrests have been made is unknown at this point
