Canada Post employees swapped mailbags for pickets Thursday morning as they demonstrated against what they describe as a government campaign to ruin postal service in Canada.

The workers launched an eight hour protest near the IKEA parking lot on Cavendish at 8 am in the aims of expressing their opposition to what they consider the erosion of nearby and universal postal service.

The workers had harsh criticism for a Conference Board report which suggested that Canada Post would have a $400 million deficit this year. They report that Canada Post had a healthy profit in 2014.
