MONTREAL -- Friends and family of a 19-year-old woman who was killed in Notre-Dame-de-Grace this week gathered Saturday night for a candlelight vigil in her honour.
The crowd gathered on Grand Blvd. outside the building where Sherri Thomas was slain.
They sang and held a moment of silence to remember the young woman.
Thomas's boyfriend, 23-year-old Michael Gero, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with her death.
The family says there may have been signs that Thomas was being controlled and abused by her boyfriend, but they didn't realize just how seriously until this week.
