At around 12:20 p.m., SPVQ officers and firefighters from the Quebec City fire department (SPCIQ) were called to an apartment on rue Lockwell “for a fire alarm in operation.”

“Upon checking the source of the alarm, first responders found an elderly man in his sixties unconscious inside the dwelling. The man was pronounced dead on the spot,” said the SPVQ in a news release.

Investigators and technicians from the Forensic Identification Unit were dispatched to the scene to analyze the causes and circumstances of death.
