Transport Quebec has decided that major work on the Turcot Interchange will start one week later than originally scheduled.
The agency was supposed to close exit ramps from Highway 15 to Highway 20 on March 24, but because of the lousy weather has decided to postpone the commencement of the work.
If the weather continues to be wintry the work will likely be delayed yet again.
Instead the closure of the Highway 15 North ramps to the 720 East and the 20 West will only begin on March 31 and continue until June.
Transport Quebec is recommending drivers continue north to exit at Cote St. Luc Rd. and then loop around to head onto the Decarie Expressway south, then head east or west.
Traffic at the intersection of Cote St. Luc and Decarie has reportedly increased in recent weeks due to the permanent closure of the entrance to Highway 20 east at Addington St. and St. Jacques Blvd., which handled about 8,000 vehicles a day.
Some of those drivers are are now getting on the highway by using the same route recommended by Transport Quebec for the Turcot ramps closure.
