One of the most prominent witnesses to appear at the Charbonneau Commission into corruption in the construction industry is trying to block the publication of the inquest's report.

Former construction magnate Tony Accurso had requested a temporary publication ban on the final report, which is due in November.

The commission refused, saying Accurso's request was premature.

Accurso is facing multiple trials for fraud and corruption charges and wanted the ban to protect the fairness of the legal process until the end of his case.
