A 33-year-old man is currently in a critical condition after his vehicle was violently struck near Maurice-Duplessis and Louis-Hippolyte-Lafontaine boulevards in the Rivière-des-Prairies district of Montreal on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were rushed to the scene at around 5:40 a.m.

Firefighters had to use jaws of life to extricate the man from the vehicle.

The occupants of the “possibly stolen” vehicle then fled on foot, while a seriously injured victim was in the other car.
