Quebec Premier François Legault extended his holiday greetings to Quebecers on Tuesday evening, on the occasion of Christmas Eve.

In a video shared on social networks, the premier wished Quebecers a happy Christmas Eve in good company, saying that “it's an opportunity to reconnect with your loved ones, to hear from them.”

“But not everyone is lucky enough to be surrounded by loved ones, so if someone comes to you, don't hesitate, give them a call, it could do them a lot of good,” added Legault.

For the rest of the holiday season, Legault wished Quebecers quality time with family and friends.

“Take some time for yourself too, to do what you're passionate about. Start a new book, put on your skates, cook a recipe with your family, it's time to enjoy it,” he said.

The National Assembly has adjourned for the holiday season and will resume on Jan. 28.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published in French on Dec. 25, 2024.
