LONDON - It's turning out to be a very big week for Arcade Fire.

Two days after pulling off an upset to win the top trophy at the Grammy Awards, the Montreal rockers won two prizes at the Brit Awards on Tuesday.

In the best international group category, they beat out Black Eyed Peas, Kings of Leon, the Script and Vampire Weekend. They also won best international album for "The Suburbs.''

That record was the talk of the Grammy Awards on Sunday night after it won album of the year, beating out the likes of Lady Antebellum, Eminem and Lady Gaga.

Singer Win Butler alluded to the cries of "Who?'' from some quarters that greeted the band's victory at the Grammys, by advising people unfamiliar with the group to "check it out on Google.''

Going into the Brit Awards, Britain's equivalent of the Grammys, rapper Tinie Tempah, soul singer Plan B and folk-rockers Mumford and Sons were the leading homegrown nominees.

Most of the awards are chosen by 1,000 music critics and record industry figures, with several decided by public vote.
