MONTREAL - The Canadiens held a rare closed-door, players-only meeting following Saturday night's 5-3 home loss to the New Jersey Devils.

Nobody was commenting on what was said but players were clearly frustrated when interviewed by CTV Montreal's Brian Wilde.

"We let everybody down, it looked like the same old shit in the third period, unfortunately," said Lars Eller.

"We're going to have to get back to work because we have a huge game Monday. Boston doesn't feel sorry for us, nobody in the NHL feels sorry for us," said rearguard Josh Gorges.

Coach Randy Cunneyworth said his coaching debut wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been.

"We have a frustrated group of players who know that it wasn't enough," he said. "I thought we were more than up to the task, our start was good, we showed some resolve and we had to battle some inopportune penalties, which took a lot out of our group strength-wise, it's always taxing when we had to kill the penalties that we did. I know it was a big let-down at the end."

Cunneyworth said he was glad that the players held a players-only meeting as it showed that they were taking the current situation seriously.
