There was so much heavy smoke coming from a fire in Sorel-Tracy overnight that police had to close a bridge.
The fire broke out shortly after midnight in a building at the corner of Rue de la Reine and Charlotte St.
Clouds of smoke covered the bridge over the Richelieu River, just a few metres away, so police closed Highway 132 and told drivers to find another route.
The commercial building was used to repair boats and was built in the 19th Century for the Sincennes-McNaughton shipping and tugboat company.
The building was heavily damaged and will likely have to be demolished.
Police do not know the cause of the fire.
