MONTREAL - If you hear anyone say a single vote doesn't count in an election don't believe it.
Lorraine Pagé won a seat on Montreal city council in the November 3rd election, beating her nearest opponent by only eight votes.
Because the winning margin was so slim, her defeated opponent called for a judicial recount.
That recount trimmed Page's margin of victory to only one vote.
Page is the former head of Quebec's largest teachers' union, and will now represent the north Montreal district of Ahuntsic-Cartierville at city hall.
