The Quebecor media group has cut ties with longtime foreign correspondent Francois Bugingo, following allegations that several of his stories were untrue.
The Journal de Montreal, Journal de Quebec and TVA Nouvelles will no longer collaborate with Bugingo, the group announced Monday evening.
The media organization took the decision after meeting with Bugingo and his lawyer Monday morning.
Bugingo has also reported for Cogeco, Radio Canada, Tele-Quebec, La Presse and Le Devoir in the past.
The veracity of several of his accounts was challenged in a high profile article last weekend in La Presse.
