Investigators with Quebec's anti-corruption unit UPAC have received permission to view Arthur Porter's body in Panama City.
The two investigators and an RCMP officer are slated to visit the morgue Monday and take fingerprints and DNA samples from Porter's body.
An employee at a Panama hospital told CTV News Porter died June 30. The investigators are in Panama to confirm Porter's death because they say they have not yet received proper documentation on the matter.
UPAC said it must confirm the death to decide what happens next in the fraud case against Porter and others, who are accused of accepting $22.5 million in bribes in connection with contracts awarded for the MUHC superhospital.
