A march and rally were being held Saturday afternoon to support 253 Journal de Montreal workers, who have been locked out for nearly two years.

Groups involved in the event, including the Confederation des syndicates nationaux, are seeking a settlement in the dispute.

The event began at Lafontaine Park at 12 noon.

Protesters marched to the Journal de Montreal offices, located on Frontenac Street in east-end Montreal.

They're demanding changes to Quebec's labour code which prohibits the use of strikebreakers during conflicts between workers and management.
