The PQ government isn’t pleased with the province’s school boards.

Reports say that the government plans to force the boards to reimburse $93 million to taxpayers.

In some places, school boards hiked school taxes by as much as 30 per cent.

Two weeks ago, the school boards met with the premier in an attempt to brainstorm solutions to reduce costs -- an effort which to-date has not sufficed in satisfying the the government.

The PQ has suggested the possibility of entirely restructuring the way schools are administered in the Quebec, toying with the idea of abolishing school boards all together.

Another option put forth is a tax credit that would be returned to property owners later this year or next.

The premier is set to meet with school boards Tuesday afternoon.
