A 48-year-old woman from Victoriaville - reportedly named Noella Goulet - was killed after exiting her car on Highway 20 in Villeroy, about 40 minutes north of her hometown Saturday.
Meanwhile the 51-year-old woman she was traveling with remains in critical condition after a passing motorist hit both women after they ventured outside of their vehicle near a highway exit at about 11 a.m. Saturday.
The driver of the other vehicle was brought to hospital where she was treated for severe nervous shock.
Provincial police are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
