A hockey fan had his laser pointer confiscated Thursday evening at the Bell Centre.
During the second period the spectator used the laser in an attempt to dazzle Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask, although it did not have any effect.
"I saw it in the second [period], but it was in the offensive zone. Good thing I didn't go blind or anything," said Task after the game.
Security agents were fairly quick to spot the man and temporarily remove him from the audience, before they confiscated his laser and let him return to his seat.
The day after the game the Canadiens said this was the first such incident to ever happen at the Bell Centre, and that in future spectators who bring lasers to a game will be immediately removed.
A similar incident happened two weeks ago during an NFL game in Detroit, Michigan, when a fan aimed a green laser while a player was trying to kick a field goal.
One person has been charged with disorderly conduct, and has been banned from ever returning to the stadium.
The Detroit Lions also revoked the season tickets for the person who had bought tickets to the game.
