A jury has been selected for the trial of Luka Magnotta but the jurors won't have to start hearing evidence for several more days, as the trial will not begin next week after all.
The trial, which had been expected to start next Tuesday or Wedneday, will now begin on Monday September 29.
Jury selection is complete after a second alternate juror was picked this afternoon. The man works as an auditor at an accounting firm.
Earlier today, a female geologist was picked as the first alternate juror. They will be required to sit on the jury only if someone from the first 14 people selected is unable to.
The six men and eight women will hear all the evidence, while only 12 of the jurors will deliberate at the end of the trial.
The 32-year-old Magnotta has pleaded not guilty to five charges, including first-degree murder, in connection with the May 2012 slaying and dismemberment of a 33-year-old Chinese engineering student.
Magnotta's trial is expected to last between six and eight weeks.
