Federal Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould has named two new judges for Quebec.

Claudine Roy, a Superior Court judge, is being elevated to Quebec's Court of Appeal.

She will be replaced by Greg Moore from the firm Jolicoeur Lacasse.

There remain two vacant judgeships in Quebec, although the provincial government has urged the federal government to name eight judges in order to reduce the backlog in the courts and avoid having cases thrown out.
