The three suspects who triggered a high-level government crisis by pulling off a spectacular helicopter jailbreak from Orsainville Detention Centre on June 8 will be staying in prison for a long time.
Yves Denis, 35, Denis Lefebvre, 53, and Serge Pomerleau, 49, were sentenced Friday morning on drug trafficking and gangsterism charges and sentenced to 16, 20 and 22 years respectively.
Pomerleau was fined also $3.2 million and Lefebvre $1.3 million.
The three escaped prison while awaiting their trial but will now face an added sentence relating to the brazen flight, which they will learn later Friday.
The three have ties to the Hells Angels gang and were rounded up as part of Operation Crayfish in 2010.
