BRATISLAVA, Slovakia - Eugenie Bouchard has pulled out of Canada's Fed Cup tennis tie in Slovakia due to an abdominal injury.
The star from Westmount suffered the injury at a tournament in Charleston, S.C., last week.
She will be replaced by 17-year-old Charlotte Robillard-Millette of Blainville, Que., who will join Francoise Abanda of Montreal, Toronto's Sharon Fichman and Aleksandra Wozniak of Blainville.
The World Group II playoff tie is set for Saturday and Sunday in Bratislava.
"I am disappointed that I won't be a part of the team, I was looking forward to defending my country's colours and joining my teammates in Slovakia," said Bouchard. "However, I need to take the time to heal my injury. I wish our team the best of luck."
Bouchard was forced to retire from her second-round match against Spaniard Lourdes Dominguez Lino at the Volvo Car Open last week.
