Following Canadian tradition, Quebec's finance minister has unveiled a new pair of shoes on the eve of the budget.
Carlos Leitao showed off a pair of imported hiking boots, but said he is hanging on to his old pair.
"It reflects the necessity before us to restart the economy so it makes us think of the Plan Nord, makes us think of the Strategie Maritime. It's the economic recovery shoes if you will," said Leitao.
However Leitao said while he'll use the shoes, on Wednesday he'll be wearing the same pair he used during the election campaign.
"My old pair of shoes that served me very well during the election campaign, they're very comfortable, they're still relatively new in good shape, so there's no reason for me to get rid of them, so I will keep them and this reflects the necessity for us to balance our books."
