Corrections Canada is warning the public about a murderer who escaped from custody.
Raymond Rouette was serving time at the minimum security federal prison in Ste-Anne-des-Plaines and on Thursday was escorted by guards while on a trip to Montreal.
He managed to escape at 7:30 p.m.
Rouette is a 51-year-old white male, 1.68 m tall and weighs 69 kg (5'6", 152 lb). He has brown eyes, brown hair and a scar on his left eye.
Rouette was convicted of first degree murder in February, 1988.
