LONGUEUIL – All lanes have been reopened on the Champlain Bridge Tuesday after a long-weekend roadwork blitz. However, strong winds prevented workers from being able to remove the so-called “super beam.”
The federal bridge authority says the operation will be completed over three weekends, May 24, May 31 and June 14.
Over the Victoria Day weekend, work was done to advance the installation of modular steel mesh to permanently replace the super team, as well as some paving and work on the new Nuns’ Island bridge.
