Those big billboards you see when you're driving along the Jacques Cartier or Champlain Bridges will soon be a thing of the past.

The billboards are a major source of revenue for the federal government, pulling in nearly $3.5 million a year.

But they're coming down because they're too close to the bridges and get in the way of construction zones, which violates Quebec’s advertising laws.

The billboards are slated to be removed by the end of August.
