Young Montrealers have a new space to learn about the arts.

On Friday the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts unveiled its education wing, a vibrant space festooned with edgy murals, graffiti art alongside bits of skateboard and other found items. The $400,000 complex has seven classrooms, enough to teach 100,000 students annually.

The city's opera house will be opening its season Saturday with La Traviata, which features a well-traveled European cast in a tale of betrayal and deception.

And for something completely different, Comiccon is coming to town. This year’s comic book convention will feature an appearance by two captains of the Starship enterprise: William Shatner and Sir Patrick Stewart.
