Men's decathlon -- Damien Warner of London, Ont., won the gold medal with a final tally of 8,282 points.

Men's hammer throw -- James Steacy of Lethbridge, Alta. won the gold medal with a best toss of 74.16 metres.

Men's 400 -- Philip Osei, Toronto (47.16); Daundre Barnaby, Brampton, Ont. (46.28); and Michael Robertson, Williamstown, Ont. (47.30), all failed to advance beyond the semifinals.

Men's 800 -- Brandon McBride of Windsor, Ont., advanced to the next round (1:49.29).

Men's 1,500 para sport wheelchair -- Both Alexandre Dupont, St-Remi, Que. (3:20.14) and Josh Cassidy, Port Elgin, Ont. (3:29.81) advanced to the second round.

Women's 400 hurdles --Chanice Taylor-Chase, Ajax, Ont. (57.23) and Noelle Montcalm, Windsor, Ont. (56.72) advanced to the second round.

Women's 1,500 -- Kate Van Buskirk, Brampton, Ont., won the bronze medal (4:09.41), while Nicole Sifuentes, Winnipeg, placed fourth (4:10.48).

Women's 1,500 para sport wheelchair -- Diane Roy, Sherbrooke, Que., advanced after posting the best time in the heats (3:52.83).

Women's heptathlon -- Brianne Theisen-Eaton, Humboldt, Sask. (3,939 points) and and Jessica Zelinka, London, Ont. (3,744) are ranked first and second after four events.

Badminton

Men's singles -- Andrew D'Souza, Ottawa, advanced to the second round after defeating Patrick Kinyua Mbogo of Kenya, 2-1.

Women's singles -- Rachel Honderich, Toronto, advanced to the next round after her opponent withdrew.

Mixed doubles -- Michelle Li, Markham, Ont., and Adrian Liu, Prince Rupert, B.C., defeated Scotland in the round of 64.

Boxing

Women's 75-kilograms -- Ariane Fortin, Quebec City, won by unanimous decision over Phathiswa Thingana of South Africa.

Cycling (Mountain Bike)

Women's cross-country -- Catharine Pendrel, Kamloops, B.C., and Emily Batty, Brooklin, Ont, won gold and silver, respectively.

Men's cross-country -- Max Plaxton, Victoria, finished fourth, while Raphael Gagne of Quebec City was seventh.

Gymnastics (Artistic)

Men's team event -- Canada (Zachary Clay, Chilliwack, B.C.; Nathan Gafuik, Calgary; Anderson Loran, Saskatoon; Kevin Lytwyn, Stoney Creek, Ont.; and Scott Morgan, North Vancouver, B.C.) won the bronze medal.

Women's team event -- Canada (Ellie Black, Halifax; Meagan Chant, Waterdown, Ont.; Stefanie Merkle, Petersburg, Ont.; Isabela Onyshko, Minnedosa, Man.; and Victoria Woo, Brossard, Que.) placed fourth.

Lawn Bowling

Women's pairs -- Leanne Chinery, Auckland, and Jacqueline Lee Foster, Halifax, lost 19-10 to Wales, then defeated the Cook Islands, 25-5.

Women's triples -- Mary Ann Beath, Vancouver; Laura Hawryszko-Hudson, Cobourg, Ont.; and Kelly McKerihen, Toronto, won 20-13 over the Cook Islands.

Men's singles -- Ryan Bester, Hanover, Ont., defeated Muhammad Shahzad of Pakistan, 21-15, and Sunil Bahadur, India, 21-10.

Men's fours -- Kevin Jones, London, Ont.; Tim Mason, Penetanguishene, Ont.; Chris Stadnyk, Niagara Falls, Ont.; and George Whitelaw, Larkhall, Ont., lost to 18-8 to India.

Shooting

Fullbore rifle Queen's prize -- James Paton, White Rock, B.C., won the silver medal; Desmond Vamplew, Toronto, was 28th.

Men's trap -- Paul and Drew Shaw, Collingwood, Ont., finished 10th and 16th, respectively.

Men's 25m rapid fire pistol -- Metodi Igorov, Montreal, finished fourth overall.

Swimming

Men's 200 individual medley -- Evan White, Oakville, Ont. was ninth in qualifying (2:01.28) and Luke Reilly, Richmond, B.C., 12th (2:03.10) -- neither advanced.

Men's 1,500 freestyle -- Ryan Cochrane, Victoria, won his second gold medal (14:44.03).

Men's 4x100 relay -- Canada (Russell Wood, Calgary; Richard Funk, Edmonton; Coleman Allen, Spokane, Wash.; and Yuri Kisil, Calgary) placed fourth (3:36.61).

Women's 50 backstroke -- Brooklynn Snodgrass, Calgary, won the bronze medal as well as setting a Canadian record of 27.97 seconds.

Women's 400 freestyle -- Brittany MacLean, Toronto, placed fifth in the final (4:06.85), while Samantha Cheverton, Montreal, was eighth (4:09.85); Tabitha Baumann, Southport, did not qualify for the final (4:16.02).

Women's 4x100 medley relay -- Canada (Tara Van Beilen, Oakville, Ont.; Sinead Russell, Burlington, Ont.; Katerine Savard, Pont-Rouge, Que.; and Sandrine Mainville, Boucherville, Que.) won the bronze medal (4:00.57).

Women's para-sport 200 individual medley (SM10) -- Aurelie Rivard, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., earned the bronze medal; Katarina Roxon, Stephenville, N.L., finished in fifth with a personal best time.

Table Tennis

Men's singles -- Pierre-Luc Theriault, Rimouski, Que., beat Alan Lin of Vanuatu, 4-0 (11-1, 11-4, 11-6, 11-6) and then downed Gilton Chelibe of Uganda 3-0 (11-8, 11-5, 11-4, 11-2); Andre Ho of Richmond, B.C., def. David Loi of Papua New Guinea, 4-0 (11-1, 11-1, 11-1, 11-4), and was victorious over Romano Spencer of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, 4-0 (11-1, 11-4, 11-3, 11-3).

Weightlifting

Women's 75-kg -- Marie-Eve Beauchemin-Nadeau, Candiac, Que., won the gold medal with a total of 250.

Men's 94 kg -- David Samayoa, Regina, finished sixth overall (321).

Wrestling (freestyle)

Women's 48 kg -- Jasmine Mian of Barrie, Ont., earned a bronze medal.

Women's 75 kg -- Erica Wiebe of Stittsville, Ont., won the gold medal.

Men's 125 kg -- Korey Jarvis, Elliot Lake, Ont., won the gold medal.

Men -- Chris Laverick, Burlington, Ont., was eliminated after losing to Melvin Bibo, Nigeria, in the round of 32.
