A doctor at Ste. Justine's hospital is recovering after being attacked in Verdun.
Several reports say the doctor is Alain Sirard, although the hospital will only confirm that one of its staff members is recovering from assault.
Dr. Sirard is an advocate against child abuse and he was recently featured in a television report concerning violence against children.
The televised report also featured several parents who say Dr. Sirard mistakenly identified them as child abusers.
The stabbing attack happened as the doctor was walking on a street in Verdun, and so far there are no signs it was anything other than a random assault.
