Montreal Police say a man has targeted store owners, drugging them before committing robbery, and suspect other victims exist.

39-year-old Van Hai Nguyen is charged with criminal harassment, theft, and drugging people without their consent.

Police say Nguyen looked through newspapers to find advertisements from people looking to sell their stores, then made appointments to meet with the vendor.

During the meetings, police say he managed to put a drug into whatever his victim was drinking. They would drink it and become semi-conscious, unable to remember exactly what happened.

Police said Nguyen then stole jewelry and cash.

Nguyen is known to use other names, including going by Andy Nguyen, or giving his family name as Long.

Anyone who may have been targeted, or who has more information, is asked to call police at their local station or by dialing 9-1-1.
