A motorcyclist had a run-in with the law early Friday morning and came out the worse for wear.

Police said two motorcycle riders were speeding on Highway 13, reaching speeds of more than 200 km/h, when officers tried to stop them.

The Sureté du Quebec believes one rider hit a van and then hit a police car before crashing near the Bisson Bridge from Pierrefonds to Laval.

The rider suffered what are described as minor injuries to his legs and back. He was taken to hospital but his life is not in danger.

Police say the events, which transpired around 1:20 a.m., are not considered a chase since police never had their sirens on.

They are not looking for the other rider.
