A man who had his face and head cut multiple times overnight is not talking to police.
The victim was found lying on the ground, covered in blood, on Sainte Foy Blvd. in Longueuil around 2:45 a.m.
Ambulance technicians raced to the scene and dealt with his injuries before bringing him to hospital.
Police closed off Sainte Foy between Taschereau Blvd. and La Fayette Blvd. while they investigated the crime, and they found a suspect in the area.
They arrested that man, who has had run-ins with the law before, and interrogated him overnight.
So far the victim, who is also known to police, is refusing to discuss the attack.
Both men are around 30 years old.
