One person was taken to hospital after rolling his car in southern Quebec.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. in Saint Blaise sur Richelieu, about 50 km south of Montreal.

The driver was on route 223, the road that runs along the Richelieu River, when he lost control of his vehicle and rolled the car several times.

The car ended up on its side on a resident's front lawn, and the 19-year-old driver suffered relatively minor injuries.

Police say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

He was arrested and will likely face charges of driving under the influence.
