It is with great pride that we announce CTV Montreal's Stephane Giroux is the new president of the Quebec Federation of Journalists (FPJQ).
This is the first time that someone who works in English-language media in Quebec has been named the head of the journalism organization.
Giroux is certain to have a busy year, especially with the upcoming inquiry into police surveillance of reporters.
We congratulate him, and wish him well defending the rights of journalists.
His term of office begins on Nov. 20, 2016.
