Montreal firefighters were busy overnight as they evacuated a 24-storey apartment building.
The fire began shortly before 3 a.m. at 2021 Atwater Ave. near De Maisonneuve Blvd. when a 10th floor apartment caught fire.
The flames were limited to the one apartment, and did not spread to any other units, however the entire 24-floor building had to be evacuated.
Three people were hurt getting out of the apartment complex and were transported to hospital for treatment.
40 firefighters were at the scene and they quickly put out the flames. Almost all residents have since been allowed to return home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
