The former Montreal police officer accused of an illegal and violent arrest in 2012 gave a completely different version of events on Friday before the Quebec Police Ethics Commission.

Testifying in her own defence Stefanie Trudeau, also known as Agent 728, denied mistreating Julian Menezes when he stopped to help a cyclist that Trudeau and her partner were ticketing.

Trudeau denied she took Menezes on a long bumpy drive without a seatbelt or that she used racial slurs against him -- although she did admit to telling Menezes he would be raped in jail as a ploy to get him to provide identification documents.

She also said the student protest movement was partly to blame because it created social chaos and made policing difficult.

The police ethics commission is expected to render a decision after deliberating the case
