Home invaders struck in Lachine and LaSalle overnight.
The first attack happened around 1 a.m. on Georges V. St. near St. Antoine St. in Lachine.
Three people, all wearing masks, knocked on a man's door and forced their way inside when he opened the door.
Police said the man was knocked down, held on the floor, and hit several times before stealing his wallet, watch, and credit cards.
A neighbour called 9-1-1 to report the crime, and the 53-year-old victim is co-operating with police.
About the same time a similar attack happened in LaSalle.
A man called 9-1-1 at 1:35 a.m. to say that four masked men had forced their way into his Bergevin St. home.
The 48-year-old victim said the men assaulted him, striking him with a blunt object and a firearm, before taking several marijuana plants and his wallet.
They left the firearm behind.
The victim was taken to hospital and treated for head injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
Police are now seeking a search warrant to examine the house to see what other drugs may be present.
Investigators could not say if the two attacks are related.
