A truck driver sustained minor injuries early Saturday when the tractor-trailer he was driving veered off the road.

The incident occurred on Hwy. 20 eastbound near St. Charles Blvd. in Beaconsfield around 7:30 a.m.

For reasons that are still unclear, the truck began to veer to the right and hit a low wall as well as a garage of a new condo.

No one else was injured in the collision. The driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The truck wasn’t transporting anything dangerous, according to police.

The highway’s right lane was closed to traffic for a time.

Speeding and drinking have been ruled out as factors in the crash.

SAAQ inspectors are looking at the truck and the working hypothesis is that there is a problem with the truck itself; the crash was not caused by a driving error.
