Water spewed out of a water tower in Rock Forest, a borough of Sherbrooke Sunday after the tower sprung a number of leaks.

The city says there is no risk of contamination and that the leaks will be repaired "soon."

A post on Sherbrooke's Facebook page said the holes aren't large and preliminary information suggests ice buildup may have contributed to the leaks, but doesn't explain how.

Businesses in the area were flooded and water was cut in the area, although a precise perimeter was not given.

The city added it has enough water and foam to be able to put out any fires in the event that one breaks out.
