Daniel Carr scored with 4:50 left in the third period as the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Boston Bruins 4-3 in NHL pre-season action Tuesday before 17,196 at the Videotron Centre.
Carr picked off a Zdeno Chara pass at the blueline, went around Adam McQuiad and tucked the puck past Tuukka Rask for the game-winner.
Jeff Petry, Artturi Lehkonen and Alex Galchenyuk also scored for Montreal (3-1-2), which ends pre-season play Thursday night at home against Toronto.
Ryan Spooner, Christian Ehrhoff and Austin Czarnik scored for the Bruins (2-2-1).
Boston opened the scoring 11:19 into the first period when McQuaid's shot went off Arturri Lehkonen and found Spooner alone in front to beat Al Montoya from close range.
Ehrhoff, playing his first game as a Bruin since accepting a tryout invitation after the World Cup of Hockey, drilled a shot in from the left point 1:29 into the second frame.
Petry got Montreal on the board on a power play at 13:29 when he one-timed an Andrei Markov feed in from just above the left circle.
Lehkonen, who hit a post in the first period, got his first of the pre-season when he went down on one knee to fire in an Alexander Radulov pass at 15:10.
Czarnik scored shorthanded only 20 seconds into the third when he pushed the puck past Andrei Markov then outraced the veteran defenceman to the puck and wristed it past Montoya.
Galchenyuk tied it 18 seconds later during the same power play when he blasted a Petry feed in from the right circle.
Montreal forward Brian Flynn, who was only in the game because Paul Byron was scratched due to a virus, left only 2:39 into the game with neck pain after a hit into the boards by Jake Debrusk, who got two minutes for boarding.
