Police are seeking the driver of a stolen pick-up truck after an elderly woman was killed in a hit-and-run incident in the Plateau Sunday.
The 79-year-old victim was crossing the street at Mont-Royal Ave. and St. Urbain Blvd. at 12:50 p.m. when she was struck by a pick-up truck. The driver of the vehicle then took off.
The woman was transported to hospital where she later died.
Police are looking for the driver of the vehicle, which they described as a white or silver four-door Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck with a fiberglass box covering the back of the bed. The box had the words "Elevator 1 Inc." in red letters.
On Monday police were able to determine the truck had Ontario licence plates AD13323.
This vehicle was stolen some time Sept. 20 and 22.
Witnesses said the pick-up was damaged on the driver side.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Info-Crime at 514-393-1133.
The woman's identity has not been released, but Sun Youth says she was a member of their senior's club.
Investigators are checking with nearby businesses to see if any surveillance cameras may have captured images of the driver.
