The ranks of Union Montreal continue to dwindle.
Park Extension councillor Mary Deros is the latest member to leave the party behind, saying she made the decision after Wednesday's Executive Committee meeting.
Deros will remain on the Executive Committee as an independent.
She was first elected to Montreal city council in 1998 as a Vision Montreal councillor in the Pierre Bourque regime, and was quickly granted a spot on the Executive Committee which she held for three years.
In 2007, after Bourque left Vision Montreal, Deros joined Gerald Tremblay's Union Montreal. Two years later she was once again appointed to the Executive Committee.
This week Claude Trudel, the borough mayor of Verdun, resigned his position, but said he would remain a proud supporter of Union Montreal.
