A Montreal man is accused of hitting women while walking down the street, and police are trying to find out how many times this has happened.
Benoit Tetrault was arrested on Sept. 3 and charged the next day with assault.
Police say that in May he walked up to two women walking downtown and punched them in the face for no apparent reason, then spit on them.
He then walked off as if nothing had happened.
Investigators are trying to find out if Tetrault did this to other people, perhaps elsewhere on the island.
Tetrault is 1.7m, 65, kg (5'7", 145 lb) with blond hair. He might have had a beard and moustache.
Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 or to visit their local police station.
