A woman who was hit by a truck on Sunday in Longueuil has died of her injuries.
The collision happened shortly after noon at the corner of St. Laurent and Joliette Sts. as the 75-year-old woman was walking across the street.
A pickup truck making a left-hand turn struck the woman, putting her in critical condition. The 76-year-old driver was taken to hospital in shock, and later told police he did not see the woman.
The woman did not have any identification when she was hit and police initially suspected she was in her 80s. She has since been identified and her family notified. Police said she was a resident of Longueuil.
Martin Simard of the Longueuil police department said the crash investigation squad was not recommending any criminal charges.
