Liberal MP and former host of CTV's Canada AM Seamus O’Regan announced on Twitter Sunday afternoon decided to enter a “wellness program” to combat struggles with alcohol.

The MP for St. John's South-Mount Pearl says he expects to be back at work before Parliament resumes on Jan. 25.

O’Regan has been open about his struggles with depression. In 2014, he was a mental health spokesperson for the annual Bell Let’s Talk campaign, which aims to open a national conversation on mental health issues.
