The cost of electricity went up this morning - no fooling!
Hydro-Quebec rates for residential customers are now up by 4.3 percent; industrial clients are dealing with a 3.5 percent hike.
The provincial utility had asked for a steeper increase by were refused by the Energy Board.
The cost of the fee hike is estimated at $95 to $120 per year for most homeowners, and is expected to add $418 million to Hydro-Quebec revenues this fiscal year,
Today CAQ leader Francois Legault said if his party is elected to form a government it would immediately act to revoke the Hydro hike.
