Harel opposes Griffintown bus lane
Mayoralty candidate Louise Harel says she's against the idea of a new bus corridor in Montreal.
Harel, the candidate for Vision Montreal, says she agrees with the Bonaventure expressway redevelopment plan that includes the bus lane.
But Harel says it would be wrong to turn Dalhousie St. in Griffintown into a bus corridor to the south shore.
Local residents say having 1,400 buses on the street every day will destroy their quality of life.
The project would extend Dalhousie street south through a tunnel with traffic reserved for south shore bus traffic.
Public consultations will be held after the Nov. 1 election.
