MONTREAL--Police have released four suspects following a fatal shooting Thursday in Cote-des-Neiges.
A 20-year-old man was shot near Kent Park corner of Hudson Rd. and Appleton Ave.
Officers responded to nearby residents' claims they’d heard gunshots, and arrived at the park to find a young man lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Paramedics rushed him to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Witnesses described an SUV fleeing the scene and later in the evening Surete du Quebec pulled over a vehicle matching that description near an entrance to the Ville Marie Expressway for another infraction.
All four occupants, aged 23 and 32, were taken in for questioning in relation to the murder.
Police released them after they were questioned.
The murder, Montreal's 10th in 2013, took place less than three hours after an unrelated murder in Saint-Laurent.
